A number of Canadian racers once again participated at the tradition rich NHRA Dodge Nationals in scenic PA….

Quebec’s Daniel Mercier continued his education and journey into Top Fuel at Reading. He made two off the throttle qualifying runs – recording a best of 4.242 secs – to qualify #15. He lost out to Tony Schumacher in round one.

Nova Scotia Super Stock legend John Armstrong qualified his record holding SS/AA Corvette #4 (-.913) but lost out on a red-light in round #2.

Jason Kenny raced Jeff Keyuk in this all Canadian 1st round in S/G. Jason went on to the best finish overall by a Canadian racer at Reading – losing only in the semi-final round to eventual winner Ray Sawyer’s perfect light (.000)!

Canadian/Australia “good guy” Wally Clark entered Super Stock with his familiar  Niagara Falls-based ’02 Grand AM GT/GA – but Wally lost out in round one of competition this time out.

Exeter Ontario’s Tyler Scott ran well at Reading driving Larry Dobbs’ Harmon HVS TAFC. He qualified #5 with a stout 5.577 secs – but then suffered a heart-breaking (-.001!) foul start versus John Lombardo in round two.

Rick Stroud raced his very steady Douglas ON-based dragster in Super Comp and won two rounds of class competition.

Usual Northeast Canadian powerhouse racers Al Kenny (top) and Charlie Kenopic both suffered very rare early exits in index class competition.

Nova Scotia’s Allyn Armstrong was the only Canadian entered in Comp. He qualified his L/A ’72 Opel #9 – but then had a red-light foul start in round #1
