All Turbo Pro Mod Final 

Michigan’s Don Walsh broke through to record his first career victory within the NHRA’s ProCare RX Pro Mod Drag Racing Series held during the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals held at Norwalk Ohio….

In a final round battle that featured two turbocharged cars, Walsh’s Mustang held off #1 qualifier andOhionative Troy Coughlin, driver of the Jegs-sponsored Chevy Camaro.  Walsh roared to a one-sided victory at 5.893 secs 251.95 mph while Coughlin was forced to abort his run about mid track because of tire spin.

Walsh did have his stunning red Mustang blazing throughout the event running nothing but 5-secs elapsed times during eliminations while defeating David Roemer, Mike Janis, and Kevin McCurdy in earlier rounds. In the semi finals his super strong run of 5.887 secs at 253.85 mph was both low ET and top speed of the meet.

With the victory, Walsh moved up to 4th place in the 2012 series points standings.

Troy Coughlin qualified #1 with a 5.949 secs and went to the championship round

The Ohio event stop featured a strong turnout with 19 Pro Mod teams making qualifying attempts.

Race highlights included series founder Roger Burgess had his best showing the season taking his R2B2 Racing ’53 Corvette to the semi final round after qualifying 4th.

The ProCare RX Pro Mod drivers will now take a mid-season break with their next scheduled NHRA race being part of the marquee Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis (Aug. 29 – Sep. 3rd).
