For the 7th time in it’s history JB’s Power Centre presented a popular and creative alternative brand of drag racing last weekend….
The NHRDA made the trip across the border (to Castrol Raceway) for the JB’s Power Centre Canadian Diesel Nationals this past weekend and it was one to remember. The crowd was great as always, vendor row was packed with people all day long and the action on the track didn’t disappoint.
The NHRDA Super Street class has become one of the most competitive classes on the MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series tour this year and in Edmonton it was no different. Chris Buhidar, who was driving a borrowed truck from fellow Texan and competitor Wade Minter, set a new National ET record of 9.45 and went on to win the event over Minter in the final round. But it was Minter who had low et of the event at 9.43 though he just couldn’t back up the record. The Super Street record is far from safe as there are still three events to go in the 2015 NHRDA MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series.
In Pro Stock Brian Spooner seems to have a handle on the new blown diesel combination as he was low et for the event at 7.96 seconds. The truck sounds wicked and the team is starting to get the combination figured out. In Pro Street, Donavan Harris took the trophy home, Super Diesel was Verlon Southwick with another victory, Sportsman went to John Kittson and in the Hot Rod Semi class Gord Cooper was the big winner.
