That was certainly again the case for 2015 and here is a photo essay (presented by Wiseco Performance Products) highlighting just some of the great machines from north of the 49th.
The man behind the highly successful “Winners Choice Racing” – Tom Nolan -was the low qualifier in Super Stock at Las Vegas with a spectacular 9.411 secs (1.109 under his GT/BA index).

Calgary’s Bob Gullett qualified #1 over a huge field of Stock eliminator racers — hitting a 1.045 sub index run driving his F/S Chevy Nova!
Edmonton’s Casey Plaizer entered his high-flying Lock Surgeon-sponsored C/SA Firebird in Stock eliminator
Defending division 6 T/D Champion Dan Provost raced his Abbotsford-BC based Extreme Torque Machine car at Las Vegas
Calgary’s Jirka Kaplan made the very best of a rather rare NHRA national event appearance with a #4 qualifier and a semi-final finish in TAFC
BC-based TAD powerhouse Shawn Cowie was the only Canadian entered in the class at Las Vegas. Shawn lost out in round #1
Saskatoon’s Sheldon Erfle made the very long tow down to Vegas and qualified his GT/EA Achieva at .642 under the index
BC’s Mike Shannon raced his always spectacular looking ’57 Corvette in Super Gas – but lost in round #2.
Castrol Raceway regular Ed Matiejewski tried his hand in Stock eliminator with his very clean ’72 Nova H/SA
Rod Hymas (from Standard AB) was the quickest Canadian qualifier in Top Sportsman (6.969 secs)
Norm Lapointe – who has been on an extensive NHRA tour so far this season – raced again at Las Vegas with his slick 2008 Cobalt
