Canadian Street Car Nationals – Gallery & Review
DaSilva Racing and gracious event presenting sponsor Matco Tools hosted yet another very successful version of the Canadian Street Car Nationals at Cayuga Dragway – Toronto Motorsports Park…..
The event was highlighted by wins in two marquee classes; Outlaw 10.5 by Nick Agostino and in EZ Street by Gen Musto.
Agostino made a strong statement driving his turbocharged Camaro (from Markham) by qualifying #1 of 12 cars entered at 4.233 secs 192.22 mph which was low ET and top speed of that 1/8th mile event. He then won in a car which had been rebuilt following an on track incident, also at Cayuga, about a month prior. Nick outran Tony Pontieri in the final round.
Musto (who is from Uxbridge) had his nitrous-assisted Trans-Am dialled in nicely and got by the 11 car EZ street field. Musto had a single which defeated Rob Orofiamma’s Mustang for that championship. Orofiamma could not make the call after he unfortunately melted a piston while winning in the semi-finals.
