Industry leader Racing RV’s will present NHRA’s Top Dragster and Top Sportsman National Championships chases in 2016….

NHRA officials recently announced that Racing RVs, an Ohio company that specializes in new and used Semi style motorhomes, has signed a multiyear agreement to become the presenting sponsor of the NHRA Top Dragster and Top Sportsman national championships.

Drivers in the Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes will be awarded points at various NHRA divisional events, the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals, and at selected NHRA national events toward the annual year-end Top Dragster national championship and the annual year-end Top Sportsman national championship.
In the program, each champion in the Top Dragster presented by RacingRVs.com and the Top Sportsman presented by RacingRVs.com classes will earn $5,000 and the series runner-up will claim $2,500. The two champions will receive their money, championship jacket, championship Wally trophy and championship ring while being recognized during the annual NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series awards ceremony.

“It means the world to us to bring funding and recognition to the Top Dragster and Top Sportsman national championships,” said Joe and Patty Fisher, owners of Racing RVs. Joe continued, “The day we signed this agreement was a big day for me personally. I have been racing my entire life, thanks to my dad Tom Fisher Sr. We have been to hell and back several times over the years racing. We have blown our stuff up (several times), set it on fire and turned our tow rig on its side with the race car in it (I did that). We have been dead broke hundreds of times, trying to keep our dream alive. We have sacrificed, bled (Tom mostly), cried and given up (for about a minute) a hundred times, all to go racing.”

“When I was younger, I always wanted to make my living through racing. Unfortunately I can not build motors like my dad or build race cars or make parts. It took me 35 years to finally figure it out. Our business started like many other race businesses – on accident. We were just trying to make a little extra money to support our racing habit. The next thing you know, I’ve dragged my incredible wife Patty Fisher into this and we are scrambling, learning and working to build our business. The funny thing now is we have sacrificed, bled, cried to build this dream of a business, like tons of other racers.”

“We are no giant company, we are a family run business that have some great people that work with us, everyone at Racing RV’s cares. We love to be here everyday, we make mistakes, we have fun and we take pride in what we do. We hope to continue to build our business to better help our friends/customers needs.  This agreement is realization of a dream come true. We get to help racers that have helped us become a company. We are definitely blessed to do what we love in both life and business. Thanks to all the racers who have helped build our incredible sport. Special thanks to Michael Faulk, who helped us build thing. And of course, thanks to my family: Patty, Zac, Ethan, and my father Tom.”

In addition to the national championship, a special Top Sportsman Shootout and Top Dragster Shootout presented by RacingRVs.com will be held during the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals, May 27-29 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. In those shootouts the winners in each class will earn $1,000 and the runner-up will get $500.

“We are pleased to welcome RacingRVs.com into the NHRA family of sponsors,” said Graham Light, NHRA senior vice president of racing operations. “Their support of the Top Dragster and Top Sportsman categories will make a huge impact in the sportsman racing community. We look forward to some exciting racing in two very competitive classes as a result of this announcement.”
