After taking a one-year hiatus — DaSilva Racing and primary partners Matco Tools will rekindle the Canadian Street Car Nationals next weekend……
The event which features some of the best Canadian and American talents within the Fast Street Car racing genre will go down at Cayuga Dragway – August 7-9th.
Competition in a total of 10 Street Car racing classes will be offered – highlighted by qualified fields in the marquee and heads-up Outlaw 10.5 and EZ Street categories.
The weekend’s event will in fact be the 9th time the race has been held at Cayuga Dragway.
“We took last year off basically just to refresh things,” said event organizer and promotor Joe DaSilva. “We’ve got some exciting things planned for this year. In addition to some ferocious competition in Outlaw 10.5 and EZ Street – there is a real focus on all the Sportsman classes. In the past our main priority for this event is for it to be family orientated and fun for all participants — and we are not deviating away from that this year.”
The event will once again present it’s “King of the Street” competition which will crown a winner on Saturday evening following a demanding round robin eliminator. That competition is limited to 100% street legal cars that are fully licensed and insured.
The weekend will also feature some cool exhibition vehicles, a major Show & Shine display as well as an added extra opportunity to race on the facilities adjacent road racing course.
“That’s something new we’ve worked out with Toronto Motorsport Park for Saturday only,” Joe added. “Basically anyone can drive their car on the road course. It cost $50 for 5 laps or $150 gets you an all day pass.”
Things will kick off Friday night with open test runs followed by a day of qualifying on Saturday. Eliminations for the 2015 Canadian Street Car Nationals will be completed on Sunday.
DragRaceCanada will post results and an event Photo Gallery the week after the event.
