The Calgary-based Nostalgia drag racing team of Les and Ryan Davenport continued their absolute domination of NHRA’s Hot Rod Heritage A/Fuel dragster category last weekend during Bakersfield California’s fabled “March Meet”…
With Ryan Davenport at the controls the team steamrolled the class again and by doing so notched their 5th win overall at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway track. They are now 2X March Meet and 3X Hot Rod Reunion title winners.
Driving the tried, true and high tech supercharged on alcohol, Sarmento-chassied dragster – Ryan was the pole qualifier with a run of 6.223 secs.
He followed that up with consecutive runs of 6.220 and 6.221 secs while winning his first two rounds.
In the championship final he faced off against his fieriest rival in the class – Kin Bates. But that showdown proved to be a one sided affair when Ryan combined a superb .010 RT with a low ET of the meet 6.196 secs at 218.55 mph to take the title.
In fact the win marked the 4th straight time that the Davenport car has prevailed at Bakersfield when the A/Fuel class category has been offered.
It’s now 5 wins and counting for the Calgary-based Davenport A/Fuel dragster at Bakersfield!
