Delehay Sets CPSA Record

Last weekend marked the first time Joe Delehay and his PM Motorsports team would run in the Canadian Pro Street Association at Mission Raceway in British Columbia…..
The weekend ended with a bunch of firsts for the veteran Calgary-based drag racer. Delehay and team left the weekend with their first Pro Street win, their first wally, and their first 5 second run.

Saturdays qualifying saw the team in the number one position after running a 6.35 @ 208 mph with a pedal after the 60ft marker and a lift at the 1000ft marker.

Sunday’s eliminations saw Delehay paired against Roy Moznik in his Pro Street El Camino. In the heat of the day Delehay layed down a stellar 5.993 @ 242.26 mph! This marked Western Canada’s first 5 second run, and
demolished the CPSA records.

“To run a 5 in the heat of the day here tells you how fantastic the track prep is” said Delehay, “The track crew really
know how to make a fast race surface here”.

In the semi-finals Delehay paired against Dale Moznik and his El Camino. Delehay’s 6.00 @ 242 mph was enough to get him into the finals against Yvonne Lucas and her Nitrous Pro Mod Camaro.

In the final round Delehay shook the tires after the 60ft marker, pedaled the car, and passed Lucas with a 6.09 @ 241 mph for the win, and Delehay’s first ever NHRA Wally.

“This weekend could not of happened without my team, and the fantastic track crew” said Delehay, “This was the best track surface I’ve ever raced on”, “To run a the first five at my home track is a great accomplishment”.

Delehay would like to thank the PM Motorsports team which consists of crew chief Ken “The Wiz” Eisler, Engine Specialist Jason Delehay, and Clutch Specialist “Fast” Eddie Chabot.

The PM Motorsports team would like to thank their sponsor Dynamic Concrete Pumping Inc. (www.dcpu1.com) and The entire crew at Mission Raceway Park for providing them with such a stellar track surface all weekend long.
