DragRaceCanada.com “Swift 16” Lotto – Program History
DragRaceCanada’s popular “Swift 16” Lotto was first introduced during the 2004 racing season in conjunction with co-presenting sponsor Eaton Electrical (Canada).
The program offered participating racers at all three of IHRA national event races in Canada some cash incentives. Select class racers were eligible for some extra cash prizes during qualifying.
During the 2004 racing season the program was offered to Pro Modified and Alcohol Funny Car Class competitors. During the 2005 and 2006 racing seasons the program was modified to include Pro Modified and Pro Stock class competitors.
DragRaceCanada and Eaton Electrical (Canada) offered a $500.00* payout to a qualifier in both Pro Modified and Pro Stock
class categories.
The rules were simple:
- No pre-registration is required; however to be eligible participating racers must display a DragRaceCanada special edition
decal (to be provided) at each event. - Racers must qualify in one of the 16 final slots – according to official IHRA results.
- All qualified racers will be equally eligible to win.
- Class alternates will not be eligible.
After qualifying is complete, the DragRaceCanada “Swift 16” Lotto will occur. In this random drawing the number which corresponds to the qualified position will determine the winner for both Pro Modified and
Pro Stock. A special presentation will follow.
A total of $1000.00* per event was paid out to racers attending: the Mopar Canadian Nationals (Grand Bend, ON), the Western
R.V. Rocky Mountain Nationals (Edmonton, AB), and the ACDelco Canadian Nationals (Cayuga, ON).
