E.T. Elite Participation
Congratulations are in order for two Western Canadian drivers who recently were part of the most prestigious event of the season for E.T. Bracket racers….
Both Chris Stone (Mission BC) and Mark Simmons (Medicine Hat AB) raced during the NHRA AAA Auto Club Finals out at Pomona as part of the race-within-a-race Summit Racing Series National Championships which are used to determine NHRA World Champions for bracket racing.
Stone, who represented both Mission Raceway Park and his NHRA Division Six was driving his super consistent ’68 Dart in the Pro ET competition and he advanced to the semi-final round before being eliminated by Illinois-based driver Kip Norup.
Another Division Six racer, Simmons, from Medicine Hat Motorplex, wheeled his Yancer-chassied rear engined dragster to the Super Pro final round only to break out at 7.566 secs (7.58) versus Edmond Richardson from Tennessee.
The Summit Racing Series Championship event features and brings together only the best of the best in four eliminator categories from each of NHRA’s seven geographical divisions. 2013 marked the 13th time that Summit has presented and sponsored the season ending showdown.
