Edmonton’s Exhibition Extravaganza

Things got very “heated” mid last week when Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway once again hosted it’s very popular annual “Hot August Night” event….

Edmonton’s highly talented home town racer Tim Boychuk took some rides in the jet powered Secret Weapon – one of many exhibition vehicles on-hand.

Taking centre stage at the evening event, which played out to the delight of a jam packed audience, was a variety of exhibition vehicles and mix of local racer talents.

Castrol Raceway’s drag strip was a blaze with one of the largest collection of jet cars and wheel standers ever assembled in Canada.

The race also included some ground pounding dragsters and Funny Cars who came out in full force to add the smell of burning nitro and alcohol into the air.  That produced an exciting show for the fans with long smoky burnouts followed by outstanding side by side racing.
