More from recent Canadian drag racing newsmakers!…..

Runner-up @ “the Walk” — The potent Veale Family racing operation from Stoney Creek Ontario had a nice effort at last week’s NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Ohio – going all the way to the TAD championship round. Driver Jeff Veale qualified the injected nitro car #7 for the swift field (5.385 secs) and then won three rounds. Regrettably – he was forced to shut off with a fuel leak for the final — allowing Rich McPhillips an unapposed single for the event title.

A Very Hot Hand — Nobody was hotter in competition during last week’s IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals then Canadian dragster driver Benny Smith. Smith from Lasalle ON, won Top Dragster both days for the separate IHRA Pro-Am events and then for good measure also won the event’s overall BOX ET title. If our math is correct – that was 16 event win lights! Awesome going Benny!

All-Star Appearance — Congratulations are in order for Paul Noakes and his great TAFC racing team from London ON who have qualified for the highly prestigious Jegs Sportsman All Stars event coming next week at Chicago. For Noakes who has won races at both the NHRA divisional and national level – it will be his first time in NHRA’s “Elite Eight” competition which features only the best machines in North America. Go get ’em Paul!
