Some significant scores (both East and West!) for Canadian drivers within the NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series….

Hot-ALK

Kingston’s Al Kenny scooped up a big win in the MXI/Magnaflux Top Dragster class during the NHRA Northeast Division Lucas Oil event held at New England Dragway last weekend. Driving his now supercharged Dan Page built dragster, Kenny had a better R/T in the final versus opponent Rebecca Miller which forced her to play catch up and then ultimately break out.  Kenny went 6.277, 217.95 for his event win — which came over 24 other entries in the T/D class. Bill Cawsey (from Regina Saskatchewan) was a winner during the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 5 race held at Topeka KS (July 31st). Racing his 2009 model Ford Mustang - Bill won an all Canada Super Gas final round at the event topping the ’12 Corvette raced by Manitoba’s Kevin Dyck in the final round. That was a super close decision too with both drivers running identical breakout 9.889 secs elapsed times (with Cawsey’s slightly superior .006 RT making the difference) (DragRaceCanada File Photo by: Don Meleshko)
