Some more important news tidbits from within Canada’s drag racing scene….

Super Shootout Specialist: Kelowna BC’s Mike Shannon is having yet another impressive drag racing season in 2016! Not only is he the late season overall points leader for the Super Comp championship (again) within his home NHRA Lucas Oil Division Six – he also was dominate all season within that Northwest region’s race-within-a-race Super Shootout Series. In that he claimed the overall points title with his Super Comp dragster and placed #2 in points with his Super Gas Corvette.

Cool Classic Configuration: Here is a first look at a truly impressive new Canadian based ’55 Chevy Nostalgia Funny Car. Colin Harris, who is the brother to Kyle Harris (KHR Racing) and who lives in Fort McMurray Alberta, has put the finishing touches on this beauty which features a supercharged and alcohol burning Atchison Racing engine program. DragRaceCanada will reveal more details about the car, team and future – soon.

Back in Black: Edmonton’s Jim Bell has completed the rekindle of his turbocharged Ford Mustang which crashed a couple years back at Rockingham NC. Now rebuilt by RK Racecraft and featuring a Disomma Racing Engines motor program — the stealth looking machine made some initial runs in competition during last week’s weather plagued PDRA event in Florida. Jim plans to campaign the car extensively going forward into 2017.
