And to further increase the prestige of the series, the IHRA and Summit Racing Equipment will be taking it to the next level in 2014 by broadcasting all of the more than 40 divisional events live on the IHRA family of websites.
The IHRA will broadcast this incredible program, showcasing IHRA’s premier sportsman series, live throughout the season. This is possible with increased support from Summit Racing Equipment and collaboration with IHRA and the Summit Pro-Am Tour host tracks. Racers and fans can now enjoy professional broadcasts, including multiple camera views, and pass by pass reporting at each race during the 2014 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season.
“This is an exciting opportunity to improve the coverage of IHRA Sportsman Drag Racing. We tested this live coverage program during the 2013 season,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing’s Motorsports and Events manager. “The fans like it and racers and host tracks appreciate the attention. The IHRA has done a great job bringing everyone together to make this a reality. We are looking forward to an exciting season of IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro- Am Tour drag racing in 2014.”
IHRA’s Summit Pro-Am Tour will be broadcast live throughout 2014 – from the season-opener at Immokalee Regional Raceway January 31-February 2 through the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals at Memphis International Raceway in October. Results and championship showdowns from all six divisions spanning 12 states and three Canadian provinces will air on the IHRA websites.
“IHRA, Summit Racing Equipment and all of the host tracks on the Summit Pro-Am Tour formed a unique partnership to make this happen. The goal is to raise the prestige and awareness of the Summit Pro-Am Tour and all of the IHRA competitors who support it,” said Scott Gardner, President of IHRA Motorsports. “This program is a first in the industry for class racers on this level and as usual, Summit Racing really wanted to lead the way, supporting the achievements of sportsman racers.”
