JEGS Pacific SPORTSnationals S/G Title to Plaizier

Edmonton’s Eddy Plaizier may have scored the most significant win of his career last weekend during the NHRA Jegs Pacific SPORTSnationals held at Las Vegas…..

The marquee all-sportsman racing event attracted nearly 400 racers from across North America and is the 3rd of three major Sportsman orientated events presented each year by giant Jegs Mail Order Company.

Driving his ’63 topless Corvette, which he acquired late last season – Plaizier bested a massive Super Gas field winning 7 grueling rounds of competition.  Super Gas class racing at Las Vegas was altitude adjusted to  a 10.07 secs index.

In the final round both Plaizier and opponent Ashley Warn left before the green – however Plaizier’s foul start (-.103) was less of a violation then Warn’s and he crused to the victory.

Casey Plaizier, who is son to Eddy came close to winning too – he placed runner-up in Stock eliminator driving the team’s 1996 Pontiac Firebird.  Eddy’s daughter Frankie was also deeply involved in the successful weekend.  Frankie (Giroux) is the crew chief for both Eddy and Casey’s cars.
