John Force Wows Quebec Media
John Force was at his best as he wowed the Quebec media with functions in both Quebec City and Montreal – leading up to this weekend’s Coors Light FestiDrag event at Sanair…
Back-to-back media events have John Force ready to get to the race track in Sanair to promote the 15th annual Coors Light FestiDrag presented by Castrol.
On Thursday Force flew into Quebec City where he was met by a full house media and sponsor event. Today Force and promoter Martin D’Anjou held an even larger event in Montreal to talk up the FestiDrag event that will begin tomorrow.
Force has been met with wild applause and adulation as the 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion returns to Canada for the first time in over two decades. Force won his first NHRA national event at the Montreal Nationals at Sanair Raceway in 1987. He also won the last NHRA Funny Car event contested in Canada in 1992.
“Winning in Canada put me on the map. Coming back up here is big for me personally and all my sponsors. I am going global and I want to take all my sponsors with me. The media has been great with their questions and more fans than I can count have come up and welcomed me back. I have done two days of press conferences and now I am ready to get to work,” said Force, the No. 1 Funny Car driver heading into the Countdown to the Championship.
Force will serve as Grand Marshal at the 15th annual FestiDrag event and will also be sharing his John Force Racing Travelling Road Show including five of his historic Funny Cars with Canadian fans. Force will also be driving a young man from The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada down the race track in a brand new Lamborghini. In Quebec City Force met the young fan and gave him one of his trademark Castrol GTX white hats and assured him they would have a great time at the races.
