K&K Dodge to Pursue 3rd Q32 Crown
Kevin Wicke and the Ontario-based K&K Racing Mopar have set a target of winning their 3rd Napa Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship in 2014…
The driver of the K&K Racing Dodge Stratus and two-time Quick 32 Sportsman Series champion said no major changes are planned for the upcoming season.
We will be doing our regular gig, noted team owner and driver Kevin Wicke from his Stratford, Ontario base. The car is working great and the crew is all back. If everything works well, then leave it alone.
The team, which competes in the Top Sportsman side of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, has always been a major contender since the start of the Series in 2009. With a car capable of high six-second times at speeds of 200-205 mph in the quarter mile, the team qualified within the top four for every event in 2013, won the Top Sportsman side twice, and placed second in championship points at year’s end.
The 2006 Stratus, with an RJ Race Chassis frame, is powered by a 604-cubic inch big block with B1 heads and nitrous injection with a Magna Fuel Racing Fuel system. Behind the engine is a Hutch’s Transmission Service two-speed Powerglide transmission with an Abruzzi Racing Transmissions 10-inch converter.
Crew chief for the team is Kevin Zimmer. Dan Culliton, Dennis Culliton, Derek Dotzert, Scott McCann, Kody and Kayden Wicke make up the remainder of the team which competes in all the Quick 32 Sportsman Series events as well as some NHRA and IHRA racing as time allows.
Sponsorship for K&K is provided by CVR Inc., Fraser Asphalt Paving, Perth Auto Dismantlers, Skully Bros. Metal Fabrication, Bear’s Performance Products and Ron’s Precision Machine.
The 2014 season for all three series opens May 16-18 at the Grand Bend Motorplex with the running of the RPM Magazine / Lucas Oil MAYHEM at the BEND Presented By Mickey Thompson Tires.
