On July 30th the team competed in a best two out of three Top Dragster match race with Buffalo, New York’s Peter Edwards during the Arm Drop Live event at Cayuga Dragway, while this past weekend they competed in the fourth round of the Quick 32 Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts at the Stratford Spectacular in Grand Bend, Ontario.

The Arm Drop Live event, which is hosted by television personality Rich Christensen of PINKS fame, presented a great opportunity for the Kopp Motorsports team to showcase its 2500 horespower, supercharged dragster in front of thousands of spectators, along with guests from the team’s major supporter We Install It. “We had some issues on the first two runs, and pretty much gave those wins away.” said Rick Kopp, “But we redeemed ourselves on the final pass of the day by running a solid 6.25 (second elapsed time) at 220 (miles per hour) and won the round in front of the biggest crowd of the event and all our sponsors guests. It was a great day overall!”
This past weekend’s event, the Stratford Spectacular hosted at Grand Bend Motorplex, was the fourth event in the six race Quick 32 Series schedule. As has been the case in the previous two events, the Kopp Motorsports dragster laid down low elapsed time of the meet, earning its third straight number one qualifying effort with an impressive 6.15 second, 224 mile per hour blast down the quarter mile. “Qualifying number one at the last three events has put us well on track to achieving one of the goals we set out to accomplish this season.” stated Kopp. “The next goal we have is to get a little more consistent on race day and hopefully win one of these things before the years out.”
The next event for the Kopp Motorsports team will be the fifth event on the 2011 Quick 32 series tour, the Thunder by the Beach Weekend at Grand Bend Motorplex, September 2-4.
