William Clark, from Dartmouth NS, drove to victory in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Super Gas division taking top honours in that class during the NHRA’s marquee 46th Amalie Oil Gatornationals event.

Clark piloted his flamed 2000 Pontiac Firebird past a stout field of race cars — winning six rounds of competition after entering the eliminations tournament from the #8 position (9.913 secs).  In the final round he in fact cruised to victory with an easy 10.32 secs win light after his opponent Craig Porter had a red-light foul start.

Clark’s first ever national event victory — came in his first ever final round!
