SHAKESPEARE, ONTARIO (July 14, 2008)- T.J. Schippling and his Lucas Oil / Dixie Chopper dragster reached another final round during this past weekends Stratford Spectacular at Grand Bend Motorplex. The 2005 Top Dragster Champion raced through five tough rounds and collected his second runner-up finish of the season.

“The Stratford Spectacular is one of my favorite races of the season,” said an elated Schippling after the race. We had a lot of fans this weekend supporting us, and it was great to put on a good showing for the huge crowds.”

Schippling eliminated the father-daughter team of Steve and Katelyn Smith in the first two rounds to set up a match versus Mitch Elliott. Schippling who subbed in Elliott’s dragster earlier in the season was able to get around him when Elliott ran under his index.

In his semifinal race, Schippling was only three thousandths of a second ahead of Kevin Knight at the finish line for the win.

The final round pairing was identical to Schippling’s last final as he faced the dragster of Jade Atkinson. He was behind Atkinson off the start and when he crossed the finish just five thousandths ahead of her, he was under his index and finished in second place.

“Dan Morgan and his family were a great help once again. I really appreciate all the support of my family, friends, and neighbors who came out to cheer us on this weekend.”

Schippling made another jump forward in the points and sits second behind Atkinson in the Armando’s Pizza Top Dragster Series. Schippling also thanked Mechanix Wear, K&N Engineering, Auto Meter, NGK, and Fast Eddie Racewear.
