Rosebud Racing is a multi-car family orientated racing team, which is a popular attraction at Western Canadian drag strips and calls Edmontonís Budweiser Park its home. Team founder Garnet Rose has been a familiar figure within Western drag racing circles ever since the 1980s.
Based from St. Albert, the team runs a pair of meticulously prepared, award winning, and very rare 1962 Pontiac Acadians. Garnet drives a ragtop Acadian that is powered by a 400 CID small block Chevrolet. Weighing in at 3400 lbs the car is run with electronics as a Super Pro and also as a Hot Rod (10.90) car within legal IHRA trim. Sponsorship comes from 1stop, Bumper-to-Bumper, The Comp Shop and AMS Competition. So far Garnetís Acadian has run a best time of 10.75 secs at 125 mph.
Garnetís son Derek also races an Acadian in Super Pro. Derekís car, which weighs 2900 lbs also features a 400 CID small block Chevy and had carded a best time of 11.23 secs at 121 mph. Valuable sponsorship for Derekís car comes from Bumper-to-Bumper, The Comp Shop and AMS Competition.
For 2004 the team will also campaign a pair of Junior Dragsters which will be driven by Stephanie Rose and Tyler Gritten. Sponsors for Stephanieís ride include Permatex Fast Orange, The Comp Shop and Sutton. Sponsors for Tylerís dragster is provided by General Electric Nighthawk Lighting and The Comp Shop.
