Things were ramping up nicely and just getting interesting – but “Mother Nature” had other ideas for the IHRA’s Mopar Canadian Nationals this weekend….

A truly uncommon and very major early summer storm system for this area has squelched the initial plans for the highly anticipated 15th Annual IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend.   With no short term let up in sight on the weather front — the IHRA and Grand Bend Motorplex have rescheduled the event now for August 15 & 16th.

One round of qualifying for the Pro racers and Summit Pro-Am Series competitors was completed yesterday – but this event postponement became necessary on pretty well all fronts to help importantly maintain the integrity of the event and to minimize inconvenience for both racers and spectators.

But on a positive note – DragRaceCanada was on hand for all of Friday’s action and we are pleased to present at least a partial photo gallery in support of this very important annual Canadian drag racing event – sponsored each year by Mopar.   And that will also provide you with a little preview of things to come when event “version 2.0” happens in mid-August!
