Nagy Finds Comeback Trail!

One of Eastern Canada’s original Pro Mod class racers is making a comeback.   After a hiatus of over a decade during which he overcame some very serious personal medical issues, Welland Ontario’s Bob Nagy is poised for a return this season…..

Bob will hit the circuit this summer driving a new 2014 Corvette Stingray expertly assembled by Cambridge-based LowDown Hot Rods.

That car will feature swing arm suspension and an all carbon fibre body from Larry Jeffers Race Cars.

“We have assembled two motors – both 521 BAE Hemis,” Nagy revealed.  “One is an ERD bullet with a Mike Janis fuel system. The other is a “total animal” built in house with the help of Larry Dobbs, Mike Janis and Jeremy at Brad Anderson.  That also has a Mike Janis fuel system and tune-up. Both motors have PSI screw blowers with “C” rotors.”

Bob reports that both engines which will transfer power though a 3-speed Lenco and a Molanari clutch set up will be more then capable of propelling the car to runs in the five seconds zone.

Bob’s team will also be comprised of his son Jason Nagy, Aaron Brooks, Wayne Boyd and Marcus Henderson.  Newcomer Kirk Booth will be groomed and tasked as the team driver.

As has been his reputation in the past – the new Corvette will be show car quality too – featuring a stunning scheme designed by Canadian native Greg Ozubko (GOS Motorsports Graphics).  Associate sponsorship for the car will be provided by Matco Tools, David Chev Corvette, Niagara Custom Powder Coatings and Niagara Battery & Tire.

“Nothing but the best has gone into this race car – I’ve spared no expense,” Bob added.  “Our goal is to make a name for ourselves on the “outlaw” circuit and after 10+ years away from the sport – I’m more than ready.”

While the team’s final 2014 race schedule is still being finalized Bob did confirm a commitment to all of the PMRA circuit events and also that appearances at Route 66 Raceway, Milan Dragway and Summit Motorsports Park are on the season radar.
