The NAPA AUTOPRO ULTIMATE SHOWDOWNS DRAG RACING SERIES celebrated it’s inaugural season with a year end Awards Ceremony….
Racers, crew members, and family members all converged on the the Best Western Cairn Croft Hotel & Banquet facility in Niagara Falls, Ontario to celebrate the achievements of the top drivers in the USDS Series. After a great dinner and some camaraderie, all the guests settled in for the first ever NAPA AUTOPRO USDS awards.
Championship drivers Rob Atchison in Pro Modified, and “MotorCity” Mike Sowards in Top Sportsman / Dragster, each addressed the audience with very emotional speeches, saluting their crew members, and families, thanking them for the ongoing support they received this season.
Other awards went to the “Sportsman of the Year” winners Lyle Williams, Tom Orr, and Bruce Boland.
Pro Mod Champ – Rob Atchison
NAPA’s Sarah Voigt addressed the audience with enthusiastic reviews, and spoke of her involvement in the 2015 USDS Series. Voigt praised the entire USDS volunteer staff that operate each of the events, on a job well done.
John Shane from Shellbourne Fuels, who presented the Awards Cermony, talked about his Company’s involvement in the USDS SERIES. John explained how his Company has grown over the years to expand into the racing markets, with products such as Oil Products and Additives, and Methanol, and many other enhancers.
The nine USDS Directors were all introduced, and thanked for their commitment and involvement this year, and Series Director Steve Martin touched on the importance of the recent racer surveys, as well as our marketing partners, and working with the race teams and the race tracks, to enable our USDS Series to grow.
