Prominent Western Canadian drag racers were out in force during the recent season opening Winternationals…..
BC-based TAD stalwart racer Shawn Cowie collected his 5th NHRA national event title win!
Rob Blair’s awesome Alberta-based FSS/B Mustang qualified #5 in Super Stock with a 8.221 secs ET
Edmonton’s Kevin Boyer well represented his sponsor Ace Manufacturing at Pomona with a R/UP finish in the Top Fuel Harley exhibition event.
Ed Hutchison had another good event in Super Gas racing his pretty Vancouver Island-based Corvette
Two of the higher quality Super Comp cars at Pomona were raced by Scott Taylor (top) and Grant Durie – both from Alberta
What would NHRA Pomona be without Canadian SS class fixtures Don Thomas and Abe Loewen?
A great race was had by Don St. Arnaud who paced the TAD field with a 5.181 secs low ET run and runner-up finish.
Bob Gullett (from Calgary) qualified his clean G/S ’68 Nova #2 in Stock at -1.080
Craig Perline was one of two Perline Brothers bikes entered in the event’s Top Fuel Harley division.
Manitoba’s Gord Gingles had an outstanding event – qualifying Clif Bakx’s “The Bull” TAD #2 at 5.214 secs!
“A little birdie” told me that there will be some exciting racing news to come later this spring involving Don St. Arnaud and his daughter Jodie! (More on that later…!)
