Northwest Nationals – Canadian Photo Extra

Ken Mostowich (from Calgary) won his 2nd career Northwest Nationals title -- winning in S/G with his ultra reliable Corvette.

 

Two Canadian-based TAD cars faced off in qualifying -- Greg Hunter (near lane) driver for Kenny Gilmour ran a personal best 5.40/265 while Hugh Ridley's driver Ray Martin went 5.43/264 to qualify solidly.

 

Chilliwack BC's Stefan Kondolay had a very strong event -- placing R/UP in Super Comp and also winning a "Pefectly Strange" Performance Award

 

Calgary's Charleen Gullett scored a huge upset in Super Stock -- taking out powerhouse Dan Fletcher in round one.

 

Rod MacKenzie and his '57 Corvette (from New Westminster BC) was the deserving recepient of the event's Best Engineered vehicle

 

The TAFC final saw John Evanchuk (far lane) outdrive Steve Gasparrelli for his coveted first NHRA national event win

 

Rick Pike's ageless '56 Chevy from B.C., was once again a fan favorite in the event's Super Stock program

 

BC-based drivers Rob Harrison and Bob Marshall faced off in round one of Comp with Harrison prevailing

 

The Northwest Nationals Super Gas final was all Canada with Ken Mostowich (far lane) edging out Mike Shannon 9.896 to 9.892 secs

 

Admitedly - up and coming Canadian Fuel FC racer Todd Lesenko had another rough DNQ outing at Seattle -- however his future in the class remains very bright.
