Everitt Racing T/D Update

Now entering his fourth season of Quick 32 Sportsman Series drag racing, Mike Everitt (from Stratford) has taken to racing his Top Dragster and is hoping to better his third-place points finish of 2014.

But the Stratford Ontario driver of the Everitt Racing Team said they plan on leaving the car fundamentally as last year.

“We’re not doing a great deal with the car, he noted. Basically this year will be to get the nitrous sorted out and drive it.”

Fuel is provided by nitrous-assisted carburetion, and a Hutch’s Transmission two-speed sits behind the engine. The car is capable of mid six-second passes on the quarter-mile at speeds of 200 mph. The team placed third in points in 2014, capped off with a series win during the Labor Day meet at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

The car, owned by Sheila Everitt, is crew-chiefed by Ken Everitt, with Jeff Shiell, Dean Wilson, Frank Wilson, Bob Robinson, Caitlyn Ross and Tyler Kawalez assisting.

The team is sponsored by Morrison/Everitt Ltd. and Wilson Salvage.

More Power for Orfanidis PBSS Team

With new power in his Quality Automotive Pro Bike Suzuki, Pro Bike & Sled competitor John Orfanidis is hoping to get down the track quicker this year.

Always a strong qualifier, Orfanidis, from Toronto, ran the entire PBSS schedule in 2014 and plans to do so in 2015. Off-season, he made a 7.28-second pass and qualified sixth of 22 in the pro-open Class at the prestigious Man (Manufacturers) Cup at South Georgia Motorsports Park, and hopes to better this effort with a new engine for the Suzuki.

Sitting in a 1999 Suzuki GSX-R with a Tracs chassis, the Vance & Hines 1755-cc naturally aspirated engine is fueled by Lectron carburetors and would run in the mid-seven second range at speeds approaching 180 mph in regular PBSS competition.
