Peanut Butter & Jam Nationals Expansion Plan
Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway, which is home to what is hands-down Canada’s most aggressive Junior Dragster racing development program (the NitroRatz) are making even more big plans….
According to Jayson Thomas, one of the executives for the group, that with the ongoing support of Castrol Raceway’s Rob and Kim Reeves – this summer’s Peanut Butter & Jam Nationals will be Junior Dragster racing’s biggest Canadian event ever.
“For the past 3 seasons the NitroRatz have had a one day event with huge payouts,” Jayson explained. “Every year it is growing with last year being the largest car count in Canada. We had 63 Junior Cars on the property racing for a total purse of $5000.00 – all on one day.”
“This year – we’ve convinced Castrol Raceway to give us TWO days and with that, we are finalizing payouts of between $8-10,000.00. Our plans and our hope is to have 1 main event with three classes; and then a whole bunch of FUN events/ Our objective is to try to give as many kids as we can; a taste of winning. Last year we handed out 12 Trophies (including 2 IHRA Ironman) but this year we are looking at a significant expansion of prizes.”
DragRaceCanada will post more details on the event when that becomes available.
