PMRA Circuit Updates
PMRA’s next touchdown is Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals – Paul Wolf Lighting Pro Mod returns ….
It’s one of the most popular drag racing events on the calendar, and three popular drag race series will return to the Grand Bend Motorplex August 8-10 for the running of the 18th annual Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals.
The Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series all return to Grand Bend to take part in this race, the fourth stop for all three series in 2014.
Once again presented by NAPA Auto Parts and Ideal Supply, the Stratford Spectacular event features free admission for all during the three-day race.
PMRA racer Rocky Di Lecce of Mississauga Ontario won this event last year on his way to the 2013 PMRA championship. Leading in the Championship Point Award Series at present is three-time PMRA champ Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek Ontario, followed by Jeff Roth of New Dundee Ontario, and Derek Hawker of Corbyville Ontario. They are followed by Jason Kalso of Clarkston Michigan, and Jack Grainy of Basom New York.
The 2013 Quick 32 Sportsman Series championship team of Wilson and Gray out of Ingersoll Ontario is presently fifth in that series Championship Point Award Series with their Top Sportsman entry. Leading is Top Dragster driver Tony Positano of Toronto, Ontario. The Top Sportsman entry of Jon Schmid from Orchard Park, New York is in second, with another Top Dragster entry, Glen Vardy of Burlington Ontario, in third. Top Dragster driver Scott Wildgust of Wartburg Ontario is fourth, and last year’s Series champs, the Top Sportsman team of Wilson and Gray out of Ingersoll, Ontario, are in fifth.
In PBSS Championship Point Award Series, last year’s champ Dan Cryderman of Thamesville Ontario is presently leading the series, and the Pro Bike rider also won this event in 2013. He is followed in points by Mark Catanzaro of Port Huron, Michigan in second. Curtis Beck and Ted Glinny, both of Milton Ontario, are tied for third, followed by of Toronto’s John Orfanidis in fifth. All compete in Pro Bike.
The Quick 32 Sportsman Series is presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and the PBSS is presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
Qualifying for this race is scheduled to take place Friday, August 8, and Saturday, August 9, with eliminations in all series Sunday August 10.

General parking is $25 per car load and weekend camping is available.
