Scores for Father & Son Tag Team
Eddy Plaizier and his son Casey shared the winner’s circle celebration last weekend at Washington State’s Spokane County Raceway for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Northwest Thunderfest.
Eddy Plaizier watched his son Casey take out Ryan Water as he waited for his Super Gas final round match up with Ken Harkema. Casey drove his ’96 Firebird to a lap of 10.75 seconds at 118.14 mph for his win in Stock Eliminator over Ryan Warter who left early with the red-light foul start.
Then just minutes later Eddy defended his championship from a year ago taking out Harkema, Spokane, Wash., in 10.127 seconds at 159.68 mph in his ’63 Corvette and the celebration was on. The pair will take their trophies back to Edmonton, AB.
The event also produced a third Canada winner when Dan Provost took home the Top Dragster crown when opponent Ryan Carlson red-lighted. Provost, who is from Abbotsford, B.C., drove it out to a winning 7.197, 189.11mph.
The three winners will look to take their momentum to their home turf at B.C.’s Mission Raceway Park for their next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, June 14-16.
