Screamin’ Eagles at Napierville
Chris Fox and the Fox Harley-Davidson Racing Team, continued to dominate the Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer Series as the CMDRA returned to the Napierville Dragway for the second time in 2014….
With competitors from Ontario and Quebec as well as racers who travelled from as far away as Alberta and the Northwest Territories, the August 2nd event featured the largest bike count for the V-Rod class this season. Lane choice was a major factor throughout qualifying and elimination rounds, as less than optimal track conditions resulted in minimal traction in the left lane.
Following a substantial rain delay, Fox ran the fastest ET of the weekend at 9.166 seconds in the semi finals, defeating Pete Thomson and the Rocky’s Harley-Davidson sponsored V-Rod. In other semi final action, fellow Fox Harley-Davidson racer Ray Philp received a BYE into the finals after his competition decided not to run. Unfortunately mechanical issues forced Philp to concede the final race to Fox. With his third victory of the 2014 season, Fox will take a commanding 123 point advantage into the season finals.
The Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer Eastern Series will hold its final race of the 2014 season on August 9th and 10th at the Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga Ontario. The CMDRA National Points Series will resume action on August 23rd and 24th, when it heads north to Fort St. John, British Columbia.
