Ohio’s Summit Motorsports Park has announced some major enhancements for it’s uber popular late summer “Shakedown at the Summit” race…

The 2016 edition for this major independent race will see a restructured payout for the Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels on Sept. 16-18, 2016.

The purse for the quickest and fastest category of the event, ProLine Pro Mod, has been increased to $36,500, and an attractive new rules package is being finalized. That sizable sum brings the total purse for all of the categories to $120,400.

In addition to ProLine Pro Mod, which this year will be contested as a 24 car field rather than a 32 car field, the event brings to America’s Race Track some of the most energetic cars in some of the most exciting categories, including Precision Turbo and Engine Outlaw 10.5, SpeedWire Systems Outlaw Limited Street, Holbrook Racing Engines Top Sportsman, Wiseco X275, Callies Pro Street, Team Z Motorsports Ultra Street and Trick Flow Open Comp.
