Two Cool Things

NHRA’s race last weekend at Chicago had a lot going on.   DragRaceCanada was however particularly impressed by a couple of event side items we need to share…..

Brian Hough showed the ongoing support for Shawn Cowie -- check out that extra thumbs up in the header slot - LOL!

Kudos to Oregon-based TAFC racer Brian Hough who showed a lot of class exemplifying the ongoing concern of the drag racing community as to the well fare of British Columbia’s Shawn Cowie.   Brian had this huge emblem of support on the side of his new Ford Mustang.   Very cool — thank you Brian — you are now an honorary Canadian!

The latest news from the Cowie Racing Team is that Shawn’s release from hospital may be imminent!   A long recovery period will still follow – but I would not be surprised to see his name on the TAD entry list come Pomona Winternationals February 2012….

Blackhawks Jim Cornelison

As you may recall DragRaceCanada is a strong supporter of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.  Thus we found it  pretty darn cool when Jim Cornelison, the famed tenor who sings the Star-Spangled Banner prior to all Chicago Blackhawks games, sang the national anthem to kick-off NHRA’s Sunday’s eliminations.

….Fire in the hole and Go Hawks Go!
