“Very Fast” Veale’s Wheels!

The Stoney Creek Ontario based Top Alcohol Dragster team of Gary and Jeff Veale put together a career best placing during last weekend’s NHRA Carlyle Tools Carolina Nationals down in Concord NC….

The aspiring father and son racing team who have been dabbling in the NHRA Lucas Oil TAD class division for a number of seasons racing both supercharged and injected nitro cars delivered some career best numbers while going to the semi final round in the eliminator.

Racing with a new McKinney chassis and a vastly improved race car, driver Jeff Veale shocked the class mainstream by qualifying number one for the first time in his career with a personal best 5.335 secs at an amazing 276.58 mph.  That terminal speed is 2nd only to Don St. Arnaud’s 278.35 mph run on March 2, 2013 in Phoenix as Canada’s all time fastest TAD car.

Jeff then won two rounds of competition — hitting a 5.399 secs and a 5.374 secs both at over 270 mph to win over Dan Dietrich and Marty Thacker.  The team was stopped in the 3rd round however when their 5.432 secs at 274.00 mph fell just short of eventual event winner Brandon Booher’s 5.357 secs.

The Veale’s amazing event effort holds well and provides some extra promise for their chances during their next scheduled NHRA national event at Reading PA in early October.
