Voting Open for Inside Track’s Drag Racer of the Year

Drag racing fans are encouraged to participate in an important on-line ballot hosted by our friends at Inside Track Motorsports Publications……

DragRaceCanada is pleased to be the presenting sponsor for the drag racing portion of this pole which is intended to help recognize top achieving Canadian drag racers from the past 2011 season.

You can select from the following nominees:

• Shawn Cowie (NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster. Won NHRA national event at Las Vegas before being sidelined for season after non-racing related accident. Showed true grit during very difficult recovery period.)
• Jirka Kaplan (NHRA Competition Eliminator. Won drag racing’s most prestigous annual event title, the NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.)
• Roger Bateman (NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car. Won NHRA Division 5 LODRS TAFC title for the third time. Finished fourth in the Lucas Oil Series World Championship points.)
• Vito Montesano (PMRA Champion. Led the points all year and came out on top by a single point.)
• Ike Maier (NHRA Top Fuel & Pro Mod. Raced two Pro classes during select NHRA events in 2011, the first Canadian ever to attempt that feat.)
