ADRL Releases Rulebook For 2012 Racing Season

The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has released its official rulebook for the 2012 racing season, which goes into effect at the first race of the 2012 ADRL Tour….

The eighth ADRL season starts on March 30-31 with Dragpalooza VIII at Royal Purple Raceway in Houston, the first of 10 events on the 2012 ADRL schedule.

The full set of 2012 rules can be downloaded at www.adrl.us/competition/rules or by clicking on the “2012 Rules and Regulations” dropdown under the “Competition” tab on the ADRL homepage, www.ADRL.us. The entire 2012 rulebook is available for download, as are individual PDF versions of each of the ADRL’s eight classes.
The rulebook also includes a full listing of rules and policies for Pro Modified, which will become an official class in the ADRL in 2012.
There have been changes, additions and modifications made in each of the eight ADRL classes, helping ensure an even greater racing experience for fans, teams and competitors during the 2012 ADRL season.

“We spent a great deal of time coming up with our rulebook for the 2012 racing season with the goal of providing the safest and most competitive racing experience for the ADRL’s talented competitors,” ADRL Director of Competition Tom Grooms said.  “With the rule additions and modifications we have instituted, there has been a premium placed on safety and entertainment value.”

The 2012 ADRL General Regulations are scheduled to be released in early December, or right after the ADRL is slated to be in attendance at booth 725 at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando on December 1-3.
A mid-November release of the 2012 ADRL rulebook will also allow teams and competitors to make the necessary changes before the start of the racing season.

“Competitor safety is our paramount concern when coming up with a rulebook and there were a number of rules and policies we have instituted for the 2012 season with each team’s safety as our primary concern,” ADRL Director of Technical Services Chris Bell said.
