A number of prominent Western Canadian racers descended on Seattle’s Pacific Raceways last weekend for the NHRA Northwest Nationals….
BC-based powerhouse TAD racer Shawn Cowie qualified #4 with a 5.309 secs and went to the semi-final round
Alberta’s Francesca Giroux had a great run in Super Comp with her Military-themed dragster – losing only in the semi-final round!
Darrell Strobbe raced his truly immaculate SS/JA ’64 Chevelle to the third round in Super Stock.
Herman Chan entered his Vancouver-gased ’85 Charger in the S/ST 10.90 category.
Bruce Schmiedl (from Regina SK) qualified his A/EA for Competition eliminator – but lost out in round #2.
Alberta’s Casey Plaizier raced his normally Stock eliminator ’96 Firebird as a SS/KA car at Seattle and went to round #3 in Super Stock.
Round #1 of TAFC saw two Canadian cars clash — with Jirka Kaplan (far lane) defeating Greg Hunter.
Ken Mostowich ran his stunning ’68 Camaro in the Super Comp eliminator.
In round #1 of Comp – Justin Lamb (far lane) ran Ken Reich’s Alberta-based car to a win over BC’s Terry Spargo
After qualifying solidly #3 in Comp – thing went errant for Alberta’s Dale Giroux in the semi-final round. Thankfully he was not injured!
Comp qualifying pitted a pairing of the Canadian cars raced by veterans Dave Richardson (far lane) and Bruce Perkin.
Ron MacKenzie – from New Westminster BC – raced his stunning ’57 Corvette to a 2nd round finish in S/G.
