In anticipation of the single largest drag race in all of Canada this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Edmonton mayor Stephen Mandel has officially declared Thursday to be “Edmonton Nitro Jam Day”…..

The important announcement came in advance of the Mopar Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals this weekend (June 23-25th) at Castrol Raceway.

After nearly a decade of providing championship drag racing and great motorsports entertainment to the Edmonton area, the International Hot Rod Association and Castrol Raceway are gearing up for the biggest event yet this weekend and it will all get underway this Thursday when city officials make the official proclamation and kickoff the weekend at the IHRA Nitro Jam Media Day and fan celebration from 4-7 p.m. at the Canadian Brewhouse in Edmonton.

In the official proclamation, Mayor Mandel describes what a positive impact it is to have fans and drivers from all corners of the country in attendance at the Edmonton facility and what it means to have such a high-caliber motorsports event come to the city year after year.
