Final Justice for Wolf Racing!

Toronto’s Sam Andreacchi enjoyed some deserved payback last weekend during Grand Bend Motorplex’s Stratford Spectacular event…..

After suffering a rather major setback at the beginning of 2011 racing, the PMRA Pro Mod driver earned his first series victory driving his Wolf Racing, supercharged Chevy Camaro.

Andreacchi, managed to ambush the field from the number 7 qualified slot.  After upsetting the Corvette of Rob Atchison and the Willys of Jeff Roth in rounds one and two — Sam faced off against the number 8 qualifier Derek Hawker (Corbyville) in the final.

Andreacchi then delivered his best time of the weekend winning handily with a 6.250 secs 226.58 mph effort.

Sam’s revamped racing team in 2012 represents for sure one of the most impressive comeback stories within the popular PMRA circuit.

His Wolf Racing and Andreacchi Motorsports team, headed up by Andreacchi and Domenic Calabria, are now campaigning a 1969 Chevy Camaro built by G-Force Race Cars. This car replaced the team’s former flat-black Nova-bodied PM which flipped and collected the top end guardwalls at Cayuga last year.  Andreacchi uses an Al Billes Racing 526-cubic inch Brad Anderson (BAE) Supercharged Hemi engine program.

Sam Andreacchi scored a much deserved rebound win at GBM last weekend

His crew chief is Vincent Andreacchi, with Rick Defrancesco, DomenicCalabria, Dan Purcell and Ralph Andreacchi as the rest of the crew. The team also receives help and encouragement from Sam’s family,Franca, Vincent, and Alessandra.

The team is sponsored by Paul Wolf Electric & Lighting Supply Inc.,Sylvania, IED (Independent Electrical Distributors), Eaton, Nuteck Mechanical, Manning Electric Co. Ltd., 3M Signs, Diagnostic Automotive, Cooper lighting, Liteline, Thomas and Betts, Astro Automotive and Machine, R Kidd Fuels, and Al Billes Racing.

The GBM event’s number one qualifier was once again Eric Latino of  Whitby who posted a 5.973 at 241.87 mph during time trials.  That math was good enough to hold up overall for both low ET and top speed of the event.

Eric Latino was the performance leader in Pro Mod - but fell in a major round one upset

Eric’s powerful “Team Green” Camaro was however on the receiving end of a rather major first round upset by Hawker who beat him to the stripe – 6.399 secs to 6.426 secs.

Melanie Simmons earned her first Q32 title. That is her with soon to be husband Jon Salemi (*Congrats Kids!)

Pro Bike rider Josie Brooks (Melbourne ON) won her first PBSS event when she took advantage of Ted Glinny’s red-light foul start in that final round.

Originally the Stratford Spectacular event was to include the conclusion of the weather delayed PMRA Cayuga Community which was rained out on August 4th.   But poor weather over the weekend at Grand Bend too affected those plans.  Eliminations for that race have been rescheduled again and will be completed over the Labour Day weekend – back at Grand Bend Motorplex during the track’s “Thunder by The Beach” event offering.
