2012 NHRA Northwest Nationals TAFC event Champion John Evanchuk will have more in his team aresenal when he enters for next weekend’s event title defence at Seattle…..

The likeable driver and his wife Ruth, whose Edmonton-based Rush Hour/Red Wolf Racing team have been a TAFC class institution within Western Canada for many years, have landed a major new sponsor for their racing program; innovative U.S.-based Fury Racing Fuels.

The team has begun that new marketing partnership after completing negotiations earlier this season in conjunction with Alberta Fuel Distributors — who are currently the exclusive distributors of Fury Racing Fuels products into Western Canada.

“Alberta Fuel Distributors (AFD) distribute high performance lubricants and fuel additives into the Alberta market,” confirmed Evanchuk.  “Fury Racing Fuel products are new to them and that includes high octane racing fuels as well as methanol and nitro.  Fury is already exclusive to Castrol Raceway in Edmonton but there are plans to expand their marketing across Western Canada and into the U.S. Pacific Northwest.  We worked closely with Parker McLean and Richard Loewen (at AFD) and we are very pleased to be the team they have chosen to help market and expose their great products.”

For the popular team this significant sponsorship has helped to boost both their racing strategy and outlook.

“To be honest we went though a few rather lean years where our budget would not allow us to race as much or how we wanted,” John added.  “But it seems that our win at Seattle last year really helped to get us some attention.  The backing from Fury Racing Fuels will help us move forward now — it’s provided both a fresh start for our team and also new enthusiasm.”

Thus John’s 2013 racing schedule will certainly ramp up.  The team will race four or five NHRA Lucas Oil Regional races in 2013 and will also enter multiple NHRA national events after Seattle — including at Las Vegas and Pomona.
