Golden Anniversary Photo

The recent Stratford Spectacular/Hot August Nationals held at Grand Bend Motorplex also helped to celebrate a very important date for the facility – it’s 50th Anniversary since being first opened.

That celebration attracted many guests back to the track for the 2014 race some of who were also in attendance during the 1964 opening.  Bryan Epps (BME Photography) snapped this image of just some of attendees who all have played an important role in the long success at Grand Bend Motorplex and Canadian drag racing overall.

The weekend guest list included (but was not limited to) Helen & Andy Spriet, Pete Warner, Peter Pollock, Fred Harris, Ken Hord, Noel Douglas, Bruce Mehlenbacher, John Elliott, Billy Kydd, Toots Rodgers, Bob Elliott, Scott Wilson, Barry Paton and Bob Atchison.
