New Brunswick's Wendall Howes had a very strong go during the recent Dutch Classic event held at Maple Grove Raceway in PA. Racing his awesome Hemi-powered '68 Barracuda - Wendall placed runner-up in that event's marquee Hemi Shootout event which was presented by Penske. At the NHRA AAA Fall Nationals near Dallas last week - Shawn Cowie raced in his 4th national event final round of the season. But the formidable Surrey-BC based TAD racer missed his 3rd win of the year when he went .004 red in the final round to lose out to rookie racer Bradley Thompson. Shawn had qualified the Mundies Towing machine 9th and had topped James Thompson, Marty Thacker and Lee Callaway in earlier event competition. (Photo by Randy Anderson)

John and Jame Carinci certainly had a hot hand last weekend while racing at the PDRA World Finals held in Virginia. The Woodbridge ON-based team took their turbocharged 2004 Corvette to victory in that event's Disomma Racing Engines Outlaw 10.5 class - their first win ever in PDRA racing. Driver John Carinci qualified #1 at 4.034 secs and set low ET of the race at 4.032 secs when winning the final round over Ron Green's Firebird. (Photo by Roger Richards)
