RMNFC Season Kickoff Summary
Western Canada’s very popular Rocky Mountain Nostalgia Funny Car circuit kicked off it’s 2013 season action last weekend (June 8-9th) at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton…
The season-opener was a Chicago Style double-header event which was run under the series’ new for 2013 – 6.90 index.
Event highlights:
- Saturday – #1 qualifier was Jimmy Fersch at a 6.94@206mph, #2 qualifier was Cal Tebb at 6.98@204mph. The final was a great race with Jimmy running a 7.01@205mph and Cal running a 6.92@200mph. Cal took the win light on the first ever Big West Tour race.
Good Vibrations quick reaction time went to Shane Reykdal with his .048 light
Jet Tools revolving qualifier award went to Norm Kolwich for his 4th qualifying place.
- Sunday – the Rocky tuners were really getting on to the 6.90 tune ups. #1 qualifier was Shane Reykdal at a 6.91@201mph, #2 was Jimmy Fersch at a 6.92@207mph. When the two cars crossed the finish line, the boards were empty, no ET, no mph, no win light. The final will be re run at a later date.
Good Vibrations quick reaction time went to Cal Tebb with his .020 light.
Jet Tools reloving Qualifier award went to Cal Tebb for his 3rd qualifying place.
The winner of the Trail Tire, MT Tire award for highest total points on the weekend was Jimmy Fersch. He was presented his plaque and MT Tires by Darrell Budney of Trail Tire.
