Six-Race PBSS Season Announced
Eastern Canada’s Pro Bike & Sled Series has announced its 2013 racing schedule, and for next season six events will take place at several drag strips…..
Next year marks the third season for the PBSS, which pits Pro Bike and Pro Sled entries running in the quarter-mile in Sportsman-style competition. Once again Wiseco Performance Products will present the series.
The season kicks off May 10-12 with a return to US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, an event won by Top Bike rider John Orfanidis of Toronto, Ontario. The PBSS then heads to the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park for the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge May 17-19. Another Top Bike Rider, Peter Stewart of Toronto, Ontario, won this event in 2012.
The PBSS returns to Cayuga June 21-23 for the South Coast Community Weekend event, which was won by Top Bike rider Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario last year. The series will next take part in the popular Canadian Nitro Nationals show at Cayuga to be held July 12-14 on the Kohler Road strip. This race was also won by Stewart.
The next two events will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex, the Stratford Spectacular Hot Summer Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts August 9-11, won last year by Josie Brooks of Melbourne, Ontario with her Top Bike entry, and the season closer, the “Thunder by the Beach” Weekend at Grand Bend August 30, 31, and September 1. This event was taken by Brandon Satchell of Stratford, Ontario on his Top Bike entry last year.
The 2012 PBSS championship title finished in a tie, with Top Bike rider Ted Glinny of Milton, Ontario and Top Sled rider Chris Bondi of Aurora, Ontario sharing the top honors.
The Pro Bike & Sled Series, www.PBSS.ca, also competes with its two companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca providing fans and exciting and complete experience of drag racing action.
