Summer Sizzler – All Motorcycle Drags Highlights

Turbos, Nitrous and Nitro were on tap for the recent Summer Sizzler motorcycle event held at Grand Bend Motorplex….

Nitro Harley qualifying was held during Saturdays Summer Sizzler racing action. Nate Gagnon who made the long haul from Nanaimo, BC would qualify #1 with a 6.50 at 210 mph. The finals would be run on Sunday where Gagnon would line up against the Nitro Harley of Rob Brown who had a little less of a drive hailing from Waterloo, ON. When the light went green Gagnon got out first with Brown right behind. Gagnon would have some issues but a top end charge would put him through ahead of Brown who posted an 8.45 at a slowing 122 mph to Gagnon’s 8.15 at 204 mph.

Saturday’s Blackmore Quick 16 would be an all Busa final as Glen Rock of Port Stanely, riding his 2005 Hayabusa would take on Brant Rossi of Windsor and his 2000 Hayabusa. Rossi would run 9.03 on his 9.00 dial to take the win after Rock went under running a 9.65 on a 9.67 dial.

A new series catching on fast is the No Bar Series that runs on an index. Crazy 8’s is an 8.88 index. Killer Street is 9.50 and there is also a 9.99 index. Randy Hope of London riding his 06 ZX14 would take the win in Crazy 8’s defeating Danny Staples of Beachville ON on his Suzuki Hayabusa.

Jason Brown of Tecumseh, ON took the win in Killer Street on his 2001 GSXR 1000 defeating Rob Rock on his 2005 Hayabusa.
Ian Washington of Sarnia, with his 2001 Hayabusa would defeat Stephan Payne of Kitchener on his 2010 Suzuki in the finals of No Bar 9.99.
