Michigan’s Don Walsh raced to an impressive victory during the J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals……
The weekend’s Pro Mod racing at Royal Purple Raceway was presented by the Real Pro Mod Association.
Walsh powered his Pure Power/D&D Performance turbocharged 2015 Camaro to a 5.872-second pass at 249.12 mph in the championship final defeating 2nd generation driver Bill Glidden’s 8.945 at 123.41 in his Mickey Thompson Ford Mustang.
It was Walsh’s second career Pro Mod win and with that he now leads the 2015 points standings.
Walsh was the No. 1 qualifier (5.825 secs) and during eliminations he defeated Gainesville winner Bob Rahaim, Mike Janis and Jim Whiteley on his way to the final.
Glidden entered eliminations as the No. 10 qualifier. He defeated Jeff Naiser, reigning world champ Rickie Smith and Troy Coughlin Jr. on the way to the finals.
