Can-Am Series – Labour Day Nationals Update
Eastern Canada’s ultra popular Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series was at Cayuga Dragway TMP over the Labour Day weekend…..
.
The Labour Day Nationals at TMP has been the series’ most popular race of the season and this year was no exception — no less then 50 cars competed on a very hot Saturday.
.
Bob Park (GT/EA Camaro), from Dundas Ontario was the winner and J.R. Taylor (first time finalist) in his 2001 Camaro was runner-up.
The annual racer & crew dinner was held under the Drumbo tent. Thanks to all who made this event possible. Over 55 door prizes were drawn at that time. Special thanks to all those donors.
Saturday night the weather was windy with rain and a small shower in the morning.
The track crew got everything dried up in good time. Lots of close racing took place with Pete D’Agnolo in his ‘67 Camaro winning and Bill Little GT/DA 2005 Grand Am as runner up. Pete also won the Vince Vanni memorial trophy for the most points in Sunday’s race.
An electric bike, donated by the Berry family and AlotA Cars, was raffled off with over $1300 donated to Cancer Research in memory of our good friend Jim Moore who passed away of cancer in August. The bike was won by Victoria Smith.
Special thanks to the TMP staff and Mike Kolne for the great track conditions and help. It was a fabulous week-end of excellent sportsman racing, along with the TNT Super Series and the brand new DSE Bracket Series. We look forward to racing again with these series in the very near future.
The next and second to last race of the season for the Can-Am Series goes down September 24th at Grand Bend Motorplex.
