Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park will once again host the biggest annual independent event in Canada – this weekend….
The 2015 Canadian Nitro Nationals has for sure a pretty impressive line-up and mixture of racers which will surely entertain what is expected to be another capacity crowd.
Headlining the event once again will be a field of Nitro Funny Cars and Top Fuel dragsters – 4 in each category.
In Funny Car, American racers Terry Haddock, Jeff Diehl, Dale Creasy Jr., and Jack Wyatt will all bring their machines back to Canada. The Top Fuel program will feature Canadian favourite son Todd Paton at the wheel of the Paton Racing dragster versus Smax Smith, Scott Palmer and Jenna (wife to Terry) Haddock.
Additional event nitro fumes will be provided by Nostalgia Funny Car drivers Doug Cadman and Gary Kraus as well as by a pair of Nitro Harleys – in head to head match racing.
But the action certainly does not stop there. This Canadian Nitro Nationals version will also feature a myriad of other racing categories of great interest.
The weekend’s event will mark the debut for and the first ever event for the new all Canadian “Ultimate Showdown” series. That group’s first of three season races in Ontario for 2015 will showcase high quality Pro Modified, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster competition – all racing for significant purses.
The race weekend will also include season race #2 for the NDRA Alcohol Funny Car circuit and will also showcase some of the area’s fastest street cars – with planned 16-car qualified fields in Outlaw 10.5 and EZ Street eliminators.
Fans attending the event will also witness the return of the truly awesome triple jet engined “Shockwave” Peterbuilt truck – a spectacle worth the price of admission alone.
